Ian
M. Donaldson
Ian is an Associate in the law
firm of Horty, Springer & Mattern
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He devotes his practice entirely
to health care law, with a focus on issues involving medical
staffs. Ian regularly contributes to the Horty Springer
publications relating to health law, including the ACTION
KIT for Hospital Law and the Health Law Express. In addition,
he recently coauthored Recent Developments in Pennsylvania
Health Law, with Phil Zarone, to be published in Volume
44, Issue 3, of the Duquesne Law Review.
Ian earned his J.D. and Certificate in Health Law from
the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2006. While
studying at Pitt, Ian served as Vice President of the Health
Law Society and as an Associate Editor and Webmaster of
the Pittsburgh Tax Review, a scholarly publication
dedicated to all issues of taxation. He was also the recipient
of the CALI Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Organizations.
Ian earned his B.S. in Economics from Penn State University
in 1999, where he was a member of the Golden Key and Phi
Kappa Phi honor societies. Prior to attending law school,
Ian worked for an 11-hospital, not-for-profit health system
in its government reimbursement department. He currently
serves on the Mt. Lebanon Hospital Authority Board.
