Educational Intent
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to practically apply
EMTALA rules and answers to on-call situations and issues; understand EMTALA
rules concerning patient transfers into and out of the hospital; and be able
to develop strategies, approaches, and policies concerning on-call and transfer
issues, as well as EMTALA requirements concerning patients presenting for care,
medical
screening examinations, dealing with difficult ED patients and
EMTALA risk management.
