FDA Authorizes Monoclonal Antibodies for Treatment of COVID-19
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) has issued an emergency use authorization that expands COVID-19 treatment options for health care providers. Monoclonal antibodies are laboratory-made proteins that mimic the immune system’s ability to fight off harmful pathogens, such as viruses. The newly authorized monoclonal antibodies are specifically directed against the spike protein of SARS-COV-2 and are designed to block the virus’s attachment and entry into human cells. CDC Announces Extension of Order on Residential Evictions
