FDA Authorizes Monoclonal Antibodies for Treatment of COVID-19

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) has issued an emergency use authorization that expands COVID-19 treatment options for health care providers.  Monoclonal antibodies are laboratory-made proteins that mimic the immune system’s ability to fight off harmful pathogens, such as viruses.  The newly authorized monoclonal antibodies are specifically directed against the spike protein of SARS-COV-2 and are designed to block the virus’s attachment and entry into human cells.  To review the FDA’s news release on this subject, click here.

CDC Announces Extension of Order on Residential Evictions

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) have extended the agency’s order regarding a temporary halt in residential evictions.  The extended order is effective until March 31, 2021.  To review the order, click here.
