Introduction

Medical Staff Bylaws — Session 1 Credentialing

January 3, 2017 - 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm (ET)

FACULTY:  Susan Lapenta and Joshua Hodges

Join us:  A key to excellent leadership is excellent learning!

Designed to be informative for any medical staff member, 2017’s Grand Rounds should be particularly helpful for medical staff leadership:  Medical Staff Officers, members of the Medical Executive Committee, Department Chairs, Chairs of the Credentials and Peer Review Committees, and the Chairs of other key medical staff committees.

If you have new members in any of these important positions, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for direct education that we guarantee will be helpful to them in their new roles.

The credentialing process is the foundation for the quality of care delivered in your hospital.  If you have a well-defined credentialing process and appoint only highly qualified applicants to your medical staff and allied health staff, your patients will benefit.

An excellent credentialing process starts with well-drafted medical staff bylaws (and related documents). Your bylaws should define threshold eligibility criteria, keep the burden on the applicant, and provide guidance on how to deal with “red flags” in applications.

Join us for the Medical Staff Bylaws Grand Rounds as we discuss these credentialing issues and more!
