Special Alert: Data Bank Reporting Rules Revised!
November 27, 2018 - 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (ET)
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm (Eastern Time)
Faculty: Barbara Blackmond and Dan Mulholland
At the end of October, the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) quietly published revisions to its Guidebook that could have far-reaching effects on what hospitals must report. These changes are significant and could result in greater legal risk for hospitals.
The NPDB has taken the position that hospitals must report more than they used to, such as:
- Certain agreements not to exercise privileges;
- Leave of absence while a physician is under investigation;
- Physician resignation while under reappointment review;
- Investigations underway, but not concluded by the time appointment expires;
- Resignation while a performance improvement plan is in effect; and
- Proctoring arrangements, even if the proctor can’t prevent the physician being proctored from doing anything.
To help you get a handle on these and other new NPDB positions and what they mean to you, HortySpringer has scheduled a special Audio Conference for November 27, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm, EST.
HortySpringer partners Barbara Blackmond and Dan Mulholland will discuss these and other important changes and tell you what to do about them, such as restructuring and properly implementing your peer review process so that true “restrictions” are reported as required by the law, but other interventions that promote patient safety and continuous improvement are appropriately not.
You can’t afford to miss this important audio conference! Listen live on November 27, 2018 or purchase the recording (mp3 or CD) of this audio conference to share with medical staff members at an upcoming meeting or throughout the year.
