Della Lin, MD

 

Della Lin, M.D. is a practicing anesthesiologist and has held multiple leadership positions, including department chief, member of the MEC, member of the Board of Directors, and member of board quality committees and credentialing and peer review committees.

She is a senior fellow with the Estes Park Institute, faculty for the Institute for Health Care Improvement (IHI), faculty for the Jefferson School of Population Health’s Quality and Safety Leadership Series (QSLS) and has a Visiting Faculty appointment with the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality.

Dr. Lin has a current focus in patient safety and cross-continuum community collaboratives. She is an inaugural National Patient Safety Foundation/HRET Patient Safety Leadership Fellow (2002) and has authored books and journal articles about leadership, patient safety culture and strategies and surgical safety and quality. Dr. Lin works with organizations and hospitals on their Board, MEC, joint leadership and patient safety and quality strategies.

She leads the Hawaii Safer Care: CUSP-STOP BSI and Surgical Unit Safety Program (SUSP) efforts and is part of the national implementation team for an AHRQ grant on Enhanced Recovery after Surgery.  Dr. Lin has been nominated for Ke Kauka Po`okela (Outstanding Physician of the Year) at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii for many years, and, since 2002, has been named yearly in the Statewide and National Best Doctors list.
